Terms of Service

Last updated: July 8, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShadowConfig (the "Service"), operated as an independent tool for Roblox developers. By creating an account, connecting a Roblox game, linking a Discord bot to your server, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What ShadowConfig Is

ShadowConfig lets Roblox developers register games and manage them from a web dashboard and a companion Discord bot. This includes:

  • Defining configuration variables (numbers, strings, booleans, and JSON) that your Roblox game servers fetch over HTTP
  • Syncing configuration and game scripts from a linked GitHub repository, so code and values can be updated without republishing your game
  • Defining custom in-game commands (with named parameters) that can be triggered from the web dashboard or via Discord slash commands
  • Sending real-time actions to your live Roblox servers — such as announcements, player rewards, kicks, and custom commands — delivered through Roblox's Open Cloud Messaging Service
  • Viewing live player counts and server activity across your connected Roblox universes

ShadowConfig is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc.

2. Accounts & Discord Bot Access

You may sign in to the web dashboard via Discord OAuth. Separately, you may invite our Discord bot to your own Discord server to run commands (such as announcements, rewards, kicks, and custom commands) against your linked Roblox games. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your connected accounts, your Discord server's permissions for the bot, and all activity that happens under them — including commands run by other members of your Discord server who have access to use the bot there. Notify us if you believe your account, API keys, or Roblox Open Cloud credentials have been compromised.

3. Plans, Billing & Limits

Paid plans are billed through Payhip on a recurring basis and grant access to higher usage limits (games, configuration variables, concurrent players, sync frequency, GitHub script/config sync, and daily webhook/command volume) as described on our Pricing page at the time of purchase.

We may change prices, plan limits, features, or perks at any time and at our sole discretion, with or without advance notice. Continuing to use the Service, or renewing a subscription, after such a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of it. If a subscription lapses, expires, or is not renewed under the new terms, your account reverts to Free plan limits, and any usage above those limits — including GitHub integration, script sync, or higher-volume Discord commands — may be restricted until you upgrade again or reduce usage.

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds. Payhip processes payment as merchant of record. You are not billed anually and must rebuy your plan every 30 days.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing, or harmful content — including through custom scripts, custom commands, or GitHub-synced files
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or plan restrictions by technical means
  • Share, sell, or expose your API key, Roblox Open Cloud key, or GitHub token in a way that lets unauthorized parties access your configuration data, scripts, or game servers
  • Use in-game actions (kicks, rewards, custom commands, or announcements) to harass players, exploit other developers' games, or manipulate players in ways that violate Roblox's own Terms of Use or Community Standards
  • Use the Discord bot to spam, abuse, or flood your own or other Discord servers, or to exceed your plan's daily command/webhook limits by automated means
  • Sync scripts or configuration from GitHub that you do not have the right to use, or that are intended to exploit, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to Roblox servers or other players' experiences
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to impersonate another person, game, or organization

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the configuration data, custom command definitions, game scripts, game names, and descriptions you submit to or link through the Service ("Your Content"). This includes content stored in a GitHub repository you connect to the Service. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and serve Your Content solely to operate the Service — for example, returning your configuration values or script contents to your own Roblox game servers when requested with a valid API key, or relaying a Discord command's parameters to your Roblox servers via Roblox's Messaging Service.

6. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, and configuration sync intervals, script sync, and command delivery speed vary by plan tier and depend in part on third-party services we don't control (including Roblox's Open Cloud APIs, GitHub's API, and Discord's platform). We recommend your Roblox integration handle failed, delayed, or undelivered sync requests and commands gracefully — for example, by falling back to sensible default values — rather than depending on the Service being reachable or instantaneous at all times.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service — including web dashboard access, Discord bot access, or both — for accounts that violate these Terms, including abusive API or command usage that circumvents rate limits, misuse of in-game actions, or attempts to exploit the billing system. You may stop using the Service, remove the Discord bot from your server, and delete your registered games at any time from your dashboard.

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any specific sync speed, uptime, or outcome will be achieved.

ShadowConfig and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, data, players, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. This includes impact on your Roblox game, its players, or your Discord server from configuration values, custom scripts, custom commands, sync delays, third-party outages (Roblox, GitHub, Payhip, or Discord), Service downtime, or action taken by Roblox or Discord against your account or game.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShadowConfig and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: your content, including configuration values, custom scripts, or custom commands you create or sync through the Service; your use of the Discord bot, including commands run by others with access to it on your server; your violation of these Terms; or your violation of any third party's rights, including Roblox's or Discord's own terms, or the rights of players in your game.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the contact address listed on our Discord Server.
